Licensing

  1. Can I add more than 6 people to be tracked?
    If you are only able to view 6 personal at a time it means you only have a 6 user licence key and need to upgrade should you require additional user viewing
  2. What are the different licence types I can get?
    There is only a 6 user viewing licence available however additional licence keys can be added to your profile.
  3. Where can I obtain additional licences from?
    You can go to any Leaf Lifestyle store or visit us online @ www.leafpinpoint.net to purchase additional licences
  4. Can my Pinpoint licence be upgraded?
    Yes your Pinpoint licence can be upgraded by purchasing additional licences and adding them to your existing profile
  5. How do I obtain a Pinpoint Licence?
    You can either go into any Leaf Lifestyle store or visiting us online @ www.leafpinpoint.net
  6. How do I transfer my licence to another device?
    Unfortunalty the licence cannot be transferred to another device; you would need to purchase a new licence
  7. Can more than one user login to a handset with Pinpoint already loaded?
    Multiple users can login at different times to gain access to there tracked users
  8. Can my licence be downgraded?
    Unfortunately it is not possible to downgrade your licence keys

  1. How do I check and see if I have the latest version of Pinpoint Mobile?
    Pinpoint is equipped with an auto update feature; when the application is launched it will automatically check for any updates and you can decide whether you would like to upgrade or not
  2. Does Pinpoint have an auto update facility
    Yes; every time the application is launched it will automatically check for updates
  3. How often is an update made available?
    Updates are only made available in two ways "Compulsory" or "voluntary" - Compulsory is required to ensure the normal function of the application and voluntary is a minor enhancement to the application and does not need to be updated.
  4. Do I need to pay for Pinpoint updates?
    Standard fixes\updates will not be charged for however if there is any added functionality\features there will be a cost involved

Installation

  1. Can I install Pinpoint on more than one device with the same Licence key?
    Unfortunately the licence is a per device licence and can only be used with one device
  2. How do I go about installing Pinpoint?
    Depending on the method of purchase different installation procedures apply:
    From SD Card
    If your phone has an SD slot, you can install Leaf Pinpoint™ Mobile straight from the included SD Card using your phone only.
    1. Insert the SD card into the slot.
    2. Follow the on-screen instructions.
    From CD
    Installing Leaf Pinpoint™ Mobile from the included CD:
    1. Connect your phone to your PC using your USB sync cable.
    2. Establish a sync connection (using Microsoft ActiveSync on Windows XP™ or Windows Mobile Device Center on Windows Vista™).
    3. Insert the CD into your PC’s CD/DVD drive.
    4. Click “Install Leaf Pinpoint Mobile” on the menu that appears and follow the on-screen instructions.

  1. Will Pinpoint work with other platforms?
    At the moment pinpoint will only work on the Windows Mobile Professional
  2. What mobile operating system does Pinpoint Mobile operate on?

How to

  1. How do I check if Pinpoint is installed?
    Click - Start - Settings - System - Remove Programs and see if "Leaf Pinpoint" in the list of installed programs
  2. How do I add a friend?
    You need to open up the pinpoint application and click the "friends" tab then the "add" button and insert your friends "username"
  3. How will the person I added know I'm requesting know I want to track him?
    An sms notification will be send to the user after you add them
  4. Do I need to login evertime I launch the application?
    No you do not; you can tick the "Auto login" field; this will allow you to be logged in every time the application is launched
  5. How do I register for this service?
    When launching the application you will be taken too the login screen; if you have not registered you can click on the "Register" icon and fill in the required fields for registration
  6. What is needed in order to add a friend into Pinpoint?
    You will be required to know the users registered username in order to add a user successfully
  7. What does the "Remember Me" tick box do?
    The remember me field allows for the application to remember the users Username on start-up
  8. What is the "Auto Login" tick box do?
    The Auto Login field allows for the automatic login of a user when the application is launched
  9. What does the "Clock" Icon indicate after adding a user to the Leaf Grid™?
    This icon indicates that the user has not yet accepted your request; and will not allow you to track the user
  10. What does the "No entry" icon indicate after adding a user?
    This icon indicates that the user has blocked you from being able to track them
  11. Can I add a picture to the person being tracked?
    This is only possible by associating an existing contact with a picture already attached to it
  12. Is it possible to track more than 6 users?
    The licence allows you to only track 6 users at a time; you can however remove a user at any given time and add a new user to be tracked or purchase an addtional licence which will add another tab of 6 users to the Pinpoint Mobile applicaiton
  13. How do I accept the pending request that was sent to me via SMS?
    Open the Pinpoint mobile application; click on the "friend" icon and locate and highlight the user that was requesting you and click the "Accept" button for the user to see you
  14. Am I able to block a user from tracking me if I have already accepted there request?
    Yes; you need to open the Pinpoint mobile application; click on the "friend" icon and locate and highlight the user you wish to block then click the "block" Icon
  15. How do I change my details once registered?
    Once in the Pinpoint Mobile Application Click - Profile - Edit the details you wish to change then click - update (Remember: You will not be able to change the Username field)
  16. How do I stop Pinpoint form auto logging in?
    Once in Pinpoint Click - Profile - Log Off - Then untick the "Auto Login" Field
  17. How do I stop Pinpoint form remembering my username and password?
    Once in Pinpoint Click - Profile - Log Off - Then untick the "Remember Me" Field
  18. How do I display the users "nickname" instead of the username?
    You need to click the username being displayed on the Leaf Grid™; then change the alias to the desired name; and click "Update"
  19. How do I use the Call; Email and SMS Icons?
    These features will only be made available if a user is associated to an Outlook contact that contains the Email; and mobile number fields.
  20. How do I remove an associated user?
    Click on the username you require the association to be removed from then click "Remove Association"
  21. How do I know if the user is associated to a contact?
    The colour of the "username\Alias" on the Leaf Grid™ will be green.
  22. How do I check where the user was prior to today?
    Click on the picture of the user you wish to track then click the "History" icon and choose the criteria required to view the history
  23. What does the Red green and yellow lights indicate?
    These lights indicate the accuracy of the user being tracked.
    • GREEN – A GPS position was received at the expected time.
    • YELLOW – A Cellular position was received at the expected time.
    • RED – No position was expected at the expected time.
  24. What does the red circle around the flag indicate?
    This circle indicates that there was no GPS signal at the time and the location was calculated to the nearest cellular tower.
  25. How do I enter a Username greater than eight characters?
    Unfortunately the username is limited to a maximum of eight and minimum of 3 characters.
  26. Is there a limit to the amount of friends I can add to the system?
    "There is no practical limit to the number of friends that you can add to your friends list. (The technical limit is 65 000 entries.)"

  1. How do I PAN though the Map?
    Panning can be done the following ways:

    PAN - Click and drag the map with a stylus in the direction you wish to scroll.
    PAN – Use the keypad Direction Pad to scroll the map.
    PAN – Use the Cursor Keys on a keyboard equipped Handset.
    PAN – Use the Joystick if the handset is so equipped
  2. How do I Zoom In and Zoom Out on the Map ?
    HTC Devices :
    Zooming in and out can be done the following ways: ZOOM IN – Press the center button of Direction Pad.
    ZOOM IN – Depress the joystick, if the handset is so fitted.
    ZOOM OUT\IN – Rotate the thumb wheel if the handset is so fitted. (e.g. : HTC Artemis)
    ZOOM IN – Draw a clockwise circle on the screen with the Stylus. (Touch Flo)
    ZOOM OUT - Draw an anti- clockwise circle on the screen with the Stylus. (Touch Flo)

    Other:
    ZOOM IN: Click the + icon at the bottom right hand side of the screen
    ZOOM OUT: Click the – icon at the bottom left hand side of the screen

  1. How many users can be viewed from the Pinpoint Mobile Desktop client?
    You get a two user viewing licence when you purchase the Pinpoint Desktop software and can purchase individual viewing licence as they are needed.

How to

  1. Will I need to register the application in order to use it?
    Yes you would need to launch the Pinpoint Desktop application after installation and click the " Register" button to register and gain access into the system
  2. How do I add a friend?
    Click on "File" in the top toolbar then "Manage Friends" - Add there Username and then click "Add"
  3. How do I see if my friend has accept my request?
    Click on "File" in the top toolbar then "Manage Friends" - Browse to the name and make sure the "I see " field states Accepted
  4. How do I update my Profile?
    Click on "File in the top toolbar then click on Profile; edit the required fields and click update when finished.
  5. How do I login?
    "After the splash (loading) screen has run and an automatic background check has been made for updates, you will see a standard User Name and Password Login screen. Log in to Leaf Pinpoint by typing the details that you used for registration and then clicking on the ‘Login’ Button."
  6. Is there a limit to the amount of friends I can add to the system?
    "There is no practical limit to the number of friends that you can add to your friends list. (The technical limit is 65 000 entries.)"
  7. Can I track more than one friend at a time?
    Yes; all you need to do is tick the "Tickboxes" on the left hand side of the friends you require to be tracked.
  8. What does the Red green and yellow lights indicate?
    These lights indicate the accuracy of the user being tracked.

Navigation

  1. How to I navigate the Map
    1. Zoom in and out by using the scroll wheel on the mouse.
    2. Pan the map by using the cursor keys , or the arrow keys in the numeric keypad with NumLock =OFF.
    3. Left click and drag out a rectangle around the area you would like to zoom in to.
    4. Pan (move around) by right-clicking on the map and dragging the mouse.
    5. Use the grey ‘plus’ and ‘minus’ buttons in the map control bar zoom in and out in discrete steps.

  1. How do I go about installing Pinpoint?
    Depending if the installation file was sent via email or installed using the original Pinpoint Mobile CD the following will apply

    From Email:
    1. Copy the file to your desktop
    2. Plug your device into your PC via USB cable
    3. Once Connected to Activesync or device sync centre; copy the file that was copied to the desktop accross to your mobile device (Please refer to your Mobile Device's user manual for further information.
    4. Find the file you just copied across to your mobile device and click on it to install
    From CD
    Installing Leaf Pinpoint™ Mobile from the included CD:

How to

  1. How do I know who can see my location?
    You would need to go into the friend management screen and view the list of friends that have "See me" Accepted
  2. How do I change my password?
    You would need to oprn the Leaf Pinpoint Tracker application and click on the "Profile" tab there you can change all your details except the "Username" field. Once completed press accept to update the settings
  3. How do I register to gain access to the application?
    You would need to launch the application and when the login screen appears click the "Register Tab"
  4. How do I know I am successfully transmitting my location?
    Open the application and click on the "Position" icon - from this window you will be able to view your last successful transmission
  5. How do I know if I have a GPS fix?
    Open the application and click on the "Position" icon then the "GPS: icon - You will now be able to see how many satallites your device is currently tracking and see weather or not you have a "GPS fix" or not
  6. How do I change my transmission interval?
    Once in the application; press the "Position" icon then the "Settings icon; from there you can either choose to let the application manage the transmission interval or tick the "Manual" box in order to change the transmission interval in the different power states
  7. How many friends can I have?
    You can add as many friends as you'd like
  8. How do I prevent a friend from seeing my location?
    Open the application and go to the "Friends" icon and highlight the person you wish to prevent from seeing you then click the "Block button"

Licence

  1. Do I need a licence to locate the Geo-pin using either Pinpoint Mobile or Pinpoint Desktop?
    No; the licence to view the location of assets or loved ones are paid for by the people who own the Pinpoint Desktop or Pinpoint Mobile applications

    You will need to insert the CD that came with the Geo-pin into your PC; once the auto-launch pops up click the install Geo-pin Configurator and follow the installation instructions

  1. How do I set the Quick dial numbers?
    You would need to install the standalone geo-pin configurator onto your PC once installed; open up the application and change the Quick Dial 1/2 fields with the required number
  2. How to I stop the Geo-fence from alerting the configured number?
    You would need to open the configurator and click the "Reset Geo-Fence" button in order to turn off the alerts.
  3. How do I know if I have a missed call?
    Look at the Call LED; if there is a missed call it will blink every 2 seconds
  4. How do I know when my Geo-pin is fully charged?
    The Bat LED will be off
  5. How do I know if my Geo-pin is charging?
    The Bat LED will blink every 2 seconds
  6. After pressing the Geo-Fence button; how do I know if the Geo-Fence was set successfully?
    The Geo-Pin should beep 3 times; it it only beeped once then it was unsuccessful
  7. How do I ensure that the Geo-pin can connect to the internet?
    Make sure the SIM card is inserted and that the APN settings under the Configurator is set according to your Service Provider (Please check with your service provider should require the settings)
  8. I would like to give my Geo-pin to someone to use and I don't want them to have my settings; how do I reset the device to remove all my current settings?
    Go into the Configurator and click the "Restore Defaults" button to reset your settings to the default ones that came on the device when you purchased it
  9. How do I add more geo-fences to the Geo-pin?
    Unfortunately the Geo-pin Standalone configurator does not have this capability; however if you purchase the Leaf Pinpoint Desktop version this will be possible?
